Laurie Zukerberg

Rochelle Eisenberg

Laurie Zukerberg loves to cook. Her daughter, Alexa, 6, loves to join her, especially when it’s time to crack the eggs.

Zukerberg, whose repertoire ranges from soups to desserts, says she first became interested in cooking while at the University of Maryland, College Park. “One of my roommates from Potomac owned a restaurant and she taught me to not be afraid. She helped me become adventurous.”

A speech pathologist and mother of two (son Dylan is 8), Zukerberg sometimes will double her recipes and freeze them for a future day.

The best part for her: “It’s important to sit down at the end of the day, and I love that my husband [Jay] likes what he’s eating.”
