Alison Netzer
Rochelle Eisenberg

Alison Netzer, a mother of three and part-time Panama program coorinator at Towson University, enjoys cooking with her “foodie” husband Giora. She admits she’ll cook practically anything and finds that cooking in foil packets makes the entrees “come out tender and rich, like butter.”
Every great cook has a few favorite ingredients and Netzer’s include kosher salt and olive oil. Kosher salt, she believes, is better than sea salt as it “enhances the flavor of the food being cooked. I [also] love olive oil, especially Spanish, due to the floral notes found in it. At any given time I have 10 bottles in my house,” she says.
One of the family’s favorites is her husband Giora’s braised short ribs, and the Netzers provided the recipe.
